Emerging Professional

Eligibility:
Available to pharmacists within their first two years following graduation from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. This includes those completing residencies, fellowships, or beginning their professional careers in any practice setting.
Purpose:
To support pharmacists as they transition from student to practitioner by offering accessible membership rates, opportunities for mentorship, and professional development resources during the early years of practice.
Pharmacist Emeritus
$125.00 (USD), prorated to $8.90 (USD)
Subscription period: 1 year, on: September 1st

Eligibility:
Previously registered pharmacists who no longer wish to meet the requirements necessary for licensure as a pharmacist in South Dakota shall be allowed associate membership with the title of Pharmacist Emeritus.
Purpose:
To honor pharmacists who have dedicated their careers to advancing the profession, providing continued access to SDPhA communications, resources, and events while recognizing their retirement from active practice.
Membership Privileges:
Pharmacists Emeritus shall be eligible for all services of the Association but may not vote or hold office.
Pharmacist Membership
$250.00 (USD), prorated to $17.81 (USD)

Eligibility:
All registered pharmacists in the State of South Dakota who hold a current annual certificate of registration to practice pharmacy from the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy may be active members of the Association.
Purpose:
To unite and support practicing pharmacists across all areas of the profession, providing opportunities for advocacy, education, leadership, and community within the pharmacy profession in South Dakota.
Membership Privileges:
Active members are entitled to all rights and privileges of the Association, including the ability to vote, serve as an officer or director, and participate fully in the meetings, committees, and activities of the Association. Please see the Member Benefits section for additional details.
Student Member (Non-SCAPP)
$10.00 (USD), prorated to $0.71 (USD)
Subscription period: 1 year, on: September 1st

Eligibility:
Available to student pharmacists and pre-pharmacy students who are not members of SCAPP through SDSU College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. This also includes students attending accredited colleges or schools of pharmacy outside of South Dakota.
Purpose:
To connect future pharmacists with the South Dakota pharmacy community by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, leadership, advocacy, and engagement while completing their education.
Membership Privileges:
Student members are eligible to receive SDPhA communications, participate in Association programs and events, serve on committees or workgroups as appropriate, and access member benefits. Student members may not vote or hold elected office.
Student Member (SCAPP)
Subscription period: 1 year, on: October 1st

Eligibility:
Membership in the South Dakota Pharmacists Association for SCAPP student pharmacists is provided through the South Dakota State University (SDSU) College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions’ registered student organization called the Student Collaboration for the Advancement and Promotion of Pharmacy (SCAPP). This group also includes SDSU’s student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP).
Purpose:
SCAPP is a professional organization designed to give students opportunities in leadership, patient care, community service, education, professionalism, policy, and advocacy. The organization encourages the advancement of pharmacy as both a science and a profession, fostering education in all areas of pharmacy practice and promoting public health and welfare through educational and patient care initiatives.
Membership Fee:
Student membership is coordinated through SCAPP and paid as a portion of their membership dues.
